I left Baton Rouge on Thursday January 31st under rainy skies. Upon arriving in Houston, winds were so bad that there were tornado warnings out at the airport. Many planes could not land in Houston. I boarded and had a two hour delay on the runway.
I finally arrived in Sacramento where Rachel, Julia, Natalie and Caden were waiting for me!! Yea!!!
While in California Rachel brought me to visit The Quilter's Inn in Danville. The Quilter's Inn has been selected as one of the TOP 10 shops for spring 2008 in American Patchwork and Quilting. The shop is owned by Jane Lewis.
We spent several days quilting and visiting some of Rachel's quilting friends. Her friend, Helen, lives in Napa and is a wonderful quilter. She loves Superior Thread just like me. Her favorite thread is So Fine and so is mine.
We also visited Rachel's friend Pat. Pat was in the process of moving her long-arm machine from the garage into the house. She was freezing in the garage. At Pat's house I met Laura Lee Fritz. I was able to purchase several of Laura Lee's book and we all got a mini-lesson on the long-arm.
On Tuesday I finished a quilt for Tara Lynn Darr's quilt. Tara owns Sew Unique creations, a pattern and quilt design company. Her Ashley Bag pattern is one of our best sellers. I also cooked gumbo today. The family thought it was great and Rachel has plenty to freeze for later. Natalie and Julia were a great help with cooking. Natalie made the roux and Julia saute'd the seasoning ans sausage.
Tomorrow I leave for Las Vegas and St. George, Utah. Although I hate to leave, I am looking forward to bringing home lots of information to share with everyone.
